Laura graduated from the University of Texas in May 2016 with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering and a minor in Spanish. Within her degree, she focused on electrical engineering, especially embedded systems courses, where she was able to excel in combining hardware and software knowledge to create embedded devices. During her time at UT, she also worked with three photon microscopy in the Functional Optical Imagining Laboratory, developed microlenses at a startup medical device company, endoASIC, and served as the vice president of the biomedical engineering honor society, Alpha Eta Mu Beta. After graduating, she joined Intel Corporation, where she developed a variety of web and desktop applications as a software development engineer. She joined Fletcher Yoder in 2017 as a technical advisor.
